HOLISTIC EDUCATION nurtures the development of the whole human being—that is, socially, emotionally, cognitively, psychologically and spiritually—empowering us to cultivate our Inner Authority, Human Essence and Soul Consciousness.
This is the essential foundation we need to navigate life and manifest all our potential, yet one which the school system has blocked multiple generations of children from building. We are like eagles who had our wings clipped as baby eagles.
Hence our world is filled with problems and conflicts, relationship struggles and health issues. Humanity only escapes this trouble when individual human beings escape it.
Philip Keay has built The Self-Empowerment Academy to deliver this foundational education to adults, who can then begin transforming society, the school system and the workplace.
There are five key pillars from which we can thrive and achieve anything we want to achieve in life:
become a skilled, lifelong learner
become a skilled articulate communicator
become skilled in self-leadership
develop self-knowledge of mind, body and soul
develop self-belief: self-respect + self-worth + self-confidence
We become the architect of our own life, creator of our own reality, and master of our own destiny.
HOLISTIC LEARNING is an intrinsically motivating experience for children and adults alike, based on inquiry, collaborative exploration and guided discovery, that acknowledges our innate nature as an intelligent social creature.
It taps into and cultivates our natural curiosity, creativity and confidence. Our school systems crush all this out of us. It develops our communication and social interaction skills. Our schooling suppressed us from doing this. Holistic education teaches us about our inner world and how our mind, body and soul work. The school systems teach us nothing of this inner world.
Hence our world filled with troubles, problems, conflicts, relationship struggles and health issues.
When one generation of adults—most especially teachers, parents, educators, leaders, entrepreneurs, podcasters, healers and all kinds of world helpers—build for themselves this foundation, now humankind will be ready to set about bringing Holistic Task-Based Learning education into the schools everywhere.
This empowering, transformational and healing journey is A SPIRITUAL REVOLUTION.
This is precisely how together we heal humankind and build a beautiful new world, the one that we all, hitherto forlornly, wish for. This is no pipe dream, I’ve been doing it at the micro-level in my own university classrooms since the mid-1990s. Now I’ve created an educational and spiritual ecosystem for adults to change their life.
TASK-BASED LEARNING is a motivating skills-focused education with its roots in the field of cutting edge second language education. It leads to learner autonomy, empowering the student with lifelong learning skills, the bedrock of individual sovereignty.
TBL is active and collaborative learning that inspires students to take responsibility for their own learning, and to learn from each other. The teacher’s role is to create and develop a wide array of tasks and learning activities to accompany both spoken and written informational input. Through these tasks students explore and make sense of the knowledge or information they are reading or listening to.
Much of the learning time is spent in pairs or small groups - solving problems, discussing issues, meeting challenges. Through TBL, therefore, students get frequent practice in mastering their listening, communication, social interaction and teamwork skills.
This must be the future of education everywhere around our world. Since I have been using it for three decades, and in my last teaching position I trained over 400 teachers in using TBL to benefit all their own students, I have now built The Self-Empowerment Academy to radically transform the way we do education.
Then our human world will radically change for the better.

Education: The Foundational Pillar of Society
The educational paradigm we have all been taught under always had the answers, the facts, the being correct, the truths, the knowledge. We were taught the answers and expected to remember them in tests and exams. If we did have questions we often found they carried a price too heavy to bear through the teacher’s reaction or the hurtful sniggers of classmates.
Teaching, memorising and testing took place, but learning and understanding didn’t.
Accordingly we have been deeply conditioned to want answers in life. But the deeper psychological consequence—at the subconscious level which drives our automatic habits, actions and behaviour—is that we look to others for answers, not ourselves. External authority knows best.

Humanity’s Elephant in the Room
When we were children over 99% of us were disconnected, disempowered and dehumanised by a rotten, unfit for purpose school system which suppressed us socially, emotionally, psychologically, cognitively and spiritually; crushed our curiosity, creativity and confidence; stole our inner child; and taught us nothing of how our mind, body and soul work.
This is a catastrophe for humanity, and devastating for our own health and wellbeing.
This sets us up for an adulthood of almost perpetual inner conflict and stress, leading to a host of problems and suffering: unhappiness, loneliness, despair, dependency, self-doubt, self-sabotage etc etc.
It’s why our human world is on fire, seemingly marching ever faster towards our self-destruction.
This rotten education is the root cause of all our world’s troubles and conflicts and of our own personal problems and suffering.
